Malus 'Gorgeous' Tree
Malus 'Gorgeous' has large, slender white flowers that have a star shaped appearance. The flowers burst open from pink buds in spring and are followed by glossy, red crab apple fruits that are sometimes orange tinted in autumn. The large fruits are produced in abundance and persist well on the tree. The dark green foliage turns yellow/bronze in the autumn before falling.
Very deserving of its name, Malus 'Gorgeous' is also a good variety for crab apple jelly. Alternatively,Ā leave the fruitsĀ on the tree to create an attractive winter display and provide food for wildlife. Growing to just 5 x 4 metres in 20 years, this Crab Apple is a small tree that will become slightly spreading in form.
