In summer, small, fragrant white flowers appear in impressive racemes of up to 25cm in lgength, creating a standout display. These are followed by small, dark purple fruits, which are highly favored by birds.
Prunus lusitanica ‘Angustifolia’ holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit and is recognised by RHS Plants for Pollinators, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance gardens that support wildlife. It thrives in full sun or partial shade, in both exposed and sheltered positions, and performs best in moist, well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Once established, it shows good drought tolerance.
